Farming is in my blood, having come from a background of numerous generations of Devon farmers that can be traced back to 1700. My father Edward and Mother Myrtle being progressive dairy famers winning the Devon Herd Competition, also running an extensive plant hire and agricultural contracting business.
Horses played a prominent part in my early years, breaking and schooling ponies and later gaining the pony club A test and the British Horse Society Intermeiate Instructors Certificate. I owned and ran the Coombe Park Equestrian Centre teaching many children and adults to ride and organised numerous Cross Country and Show Jumping Competitions.

The Countryside and animals have always played a huge part of my life, having been brought up in the beautiful South Hams in Devon with an array of domestic pets and farm animals.
On leaving school, I studied Veterinary Nursing at Bicton College and worked in a mixed practice until spending a year working at the Dartington Cattle Breeding Centre. On leaving there, I went on to work in another very busy mixed Veterinary Practice in Totnes where I stayed for 15 years progressing to Practice Manager.
I have spent time in retail, owning two shops, one being lingerie, the other Country Clothing.
I thoroughly enjoy be outside in the countryside and now spend all of my time on the farm, assisting with the daily running, have responsibility for the farm paperwork which can be extensive at times, and have a keen interest in producing cattle to potentially show at Agricultural shows. We also have a beautiful 3 bedroomed holiday barn here on the farm which I look after and with my house being here on the farm, I am on hand 24 hours a day to deal with any issues, extremely important during calving and lambing periods.
I have ridden from an early age and currently ride and occasionally compete when time allows. I have two horses, Jack I compete, normally at Riding Club level and Flynn whom I bred from my old Skewbald mare Maisie. Flynn was bred to be a bombproof armchair - an armchair he is but maybe not bombproof!. He is full of character which has resulted in me writing a children's book about him due to be published ready for Christmas 2024.
